This is the world every child lives in. Children are not yet exposed to the cruelties of the world. They do not have to shoulder the heavy burden of experience and grief that every adult seems to carry. Children, in their unspoiled innocence and curiosity, are the purest specimens of humankind. A child doesn’t need to worry about subterfuge or secrecy. If there’s a tear, there will be many. If there’s smiles, there’ll be laughter. And if there’s good huggy feelings, no plushie in the world is safe from their embrace. So where did this innocence go? At what point did we all stop appreciating the simple joys and start developing fears and insecurities? When did we grow up?
