The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Saturday announced the implementation of virtual registration cards valid for a lifetime starting from August 1. The renewal of the registration can be done either through RTA’s Dubai Drive mobile application, through the website www.rta.ae and also through the call centre (8009090) after the vehicle inspection or the technical test is conducted which is mandatory for all the vehicles aged more than three years. The Director also added, “As soon as the renewal is done, the motorist will get an email copy of the e-registration card and it will also reflect on the personal dashboard of the RTA’s app”. Even though the e-registration card will be accepted at all the borders and foreign countries, the Director advised the motorists who are travelling outside the country to print the registration card if in case of an emergency.
