The Nature Club is a voluntary association to cultivate love of nature and a sustainable future for the world among students. The members campaign for preservation of forests, wild life and natural resources. A series of activities are undertaken each year as part of the Club. While some of the practices aimed at sustainable living, carbon neutrality etc are integrated into the the curriculum, the rest are taken up in the form of visits, interactions, projects, seminars, workshops and short films.
There is an Arabic Club under the Department of Arabic to improve learners’ skill in spoken Arabic. The membership in the Club is voluntary. The Club arranges meetings periodically and organizes seminars by eminent Arabic scholars
The Department of English co-ordinates the activities of the English Club. The purpose of the Club is to improve the communicative skill of its members. The Club meets periodically, conducts debates on selected topics, and occasionally invites eminent persons for lectures.
A Fine Arts Club functions in the college under the supervision of a team of teachers.The Club spots talented students, supports and motivates them and helps improve their talents. It also prepares them for various competirons at College and University and professional levels.
As a supplement to classroom teaching and also as an effective co-curricular activity, study tours and Field trips are conducted by different Departments under the guidance of teachers. The visits have been found much effective as these are participative exercises for the learners. Students of various Departments visit places having relevance to their subjects and get the opportunity to listen to experts too.
Travel is always a loved activity for the youngsters. The Travel Club attempts to explore and exploit this passion of the students to broaden it in creative and professional ways. It will not only organize field trips and short tours, involving the students in recording, narrating, presenting these experiences in various forms. Travelogues, travel movies and blogs too will be taken up for analysis and studies. The Club collaborates with NGOs and relevant govt bodies, wherever possible.
The College Movie Club works to promote the educational and creative uses of the movies. With the growth of visual media and the penetration of mobile phones and devices, the possibility of movies, short or otherwise, is infinite. Hence the Club regularly screens classical films, documentaries and films of social significance. It also conducts workshops, discussions on movie making and critical appreciation in the campus.
Kerala has a clear leadership in Palliative care in India, with more than 1500 care centers. Many of these centers are strongly supported by students’ wings. The SIP renders invaluable service in creating awareness among the students and public in realizing the value of empathy and care for others. The volunteers of the pain and palliative Club make their service available to disabled, sick and the bed-ridden. These volunteers, trained in palliative care, work in association with the neighboring pain and palliative clinics. These volunteers are given periodic training in palliative care and their activities help improve the campus attitude towards caring and serving the aged, the sick and the bed ridden.
The drive for innovation has become a global mission these days. The spirit of enquiry, the mind to raise questions, boldness to confront and challenge the status quo in many ways, the capacity to think, dream and vision differently: these traits in students are supported and promoted by the College Innovation Hub. The trajectories thrown up by their curriculum are followed up by the Innovation Hub.

The aim of the Club is to develop entrepreneurship skills of students. The Entrepreneurship Education and training provided to the student help them hone their attitudes and pick up valuable tips for themselves. Students are equipped to find self-employment after they leave the college. Structured exposure is provided to the selected students in identifying, nurturing and incubating their business ideas. They are made to meet and interact with businessmen and grasp the fundamentals of establishing and running a business. Start-Up idea generation, testing of ideas against those who are already established in related business fields, out of the box thinking and how to sell – these are some of the realms in which specific support is given at EDC.
