The first of its kind in Malappuram District was started here in the year 2000. All speciality works like Oesophageal stenting, ERCP, CBD stone extraction, Endoscopic foreign body removal, Liver Biopsy, Sclerotherapy, Banding and Glue injection for Variceal bleed, Pneumatic dialation for Achalasia cardia etc. apart from the upper G.I. and lower G.I. video endoscopy procedures. The department is well equipped with video endoscopes of OLYMPOUS. Two full fledged units are running here headed by well experienced consultants.
