General Medicine

Introduction

Department of medicine is present from the beginning of the Hospital in August 1990. Department was started under the eminent leadership of Dr.P.V Joseph, who left the Hospital in the year 1999.

Presently unit I is headed by Dr.S.V Krishnankutty BAM, MBBS, MD (Internal medicine) and unit II by Dr. Pradeep MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), and unit III by Dr.Sujith.S, MD(General Medicine),DCH and unit IV by Dr.Soumya Sathyan MBBS, MD (General Medicine).

Facilities

• To begin with department started with basic facilities but over time all medical super specialties were started. Presently cardiology, Nephrology, pulmonary medicine, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology and Neurology, Endocrinology Departments are working with very good facilities.
• With great Co-operation and Co-ordination of various medical and surgical departments, medical problems of any variety is being managed under the department of medicine.
• Diabetes Mellitus, poisoning full-fledged snake bite care unit hypertension etc are diseases which are given special care, along with a fully equipped medical intensive care unit.
• For consulting with the consultants prior booking facilities are available. We are doing Whole Body Checkups of various types aimed at various classes of people and people with various co-morbidities at affordable cost.
• We do have a full-fledged MICU with all facilities and is working with the                                        co-ordination of Consultant Physicians and Critical Care Constants.
• We have a team for extensive evacuation of all kind of diseases and laboratory guided by Pathology, Microbiology and Hematology departments are working hand in hand with medicine department for accurate diagnosis and management.
