Being a semi extension agency in the island with a diversified mandate, the KVK works with different categories of farmers have created larger impacts. Since inception the KVK has been pioneering in assessing technological innovations of NARS, demonstrating frontier technologies, and imparting capacity development programmes. The larger impact created by KVK are with the mandated activities and also working with UT administration. The significant achievements of the KVK are as follows:
- Lead in introduction of Barn Owl as a biological control method for reducing rate menace in the island in collaboration with UT administration
- Introduced hybrid varieties of vegetables and fruits
- Dissemination of modern management practices in nutri gardens in the islands
- Promoted entrepreneurship activities in diversified coconut products
- Facilitated an Organic Oil Production Unit as an enterprise
- First in introducing coconut climbing machines in the island
- Introduced different drip irrigation methods
- Introduced cage culture of fish in sea
- Propelled seaweed culture as an enterprise
- Introduced Bio bin technology as an innovation for fish waste management
- Introduced techniques for conversion of fish waste to manure and animal feeds
