KVK works with different externally supported development projects. The host institute of KVK, ICAR-CMFRI operated few projects in the fisheries development sector. The funding agencies for the projects are National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad, National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) of ICAR-CMFRI, Indian Meteorological Department, UT administration and others.

KVK-Lakshadweep operates the District Agro Metrology Unit (DAMU), a project funded by the Indian Metrological Department and coordinated by ICAR-ATARI. The project provides weather related information to farmers of the island. The main aim of the project is to improvise the existing district level Agromet Advisory Services (AAS) at the micro farming situation of the islands. The project also provides a customised advisory bulletin for different stakeholders of the island.
The NFDB funded project on promotion of cage culture of lobster fattening and Pampano have been implemented in the islands of _____________. The project has at present installed three cages involving three groups. The project has demonstrated the process of cage culture, stocking of fish seeds and different management practices.
