Dr. Saurabh V. Jose is one among the very few qualified Neonatal & Paediatric surgeons in Cochin today. He completed his MBBS in 2004, Masters in General Surgery in 2008 and MCh in Paediatric Surgery in 2012; all from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram with honours. He went on to pursue his Fellowship in Paediatric Laparoscopic Surgery (FMAPS) from the prestigious KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He also secured the Diplomate of National Board degree in Paediatric Surgery during this period. He has over nine years of experience in the field of operating on children. He is a life member of the Indian Association of Paediatric Surgeons, Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons of India besides the Indian Medical Association. His areas of special interest include surgery in the neonate for congenital disorders, paediatric gastrointestinal surgeries, urological surgeries and keyhole surgery in children. Congenital anomalies in newborn including diaphragmatic hernia, bowel atresia and anorectal malformations have been successfully operated at our centre. His services are available round the clock and paediatric surgical emergencies including trauma and burns are swiftly and comprehensively managed along with a dedicated Emergency department and an experienced team of paediatric intensivists and paediatric anaesthetists. In addition, expectant mothers diagnosed antenatally with surgical anomalies of their foetus are provided adequate counselling to allay their fears and provide for surgical support during birth of their newborn.
