Dizziness or head spinning is one of the commonest symptoms analysed in a neurology /ENT clinic.

Patients experience rotation of self or surrounding and may be accompanied by vegetative symptoms like sweating, vomiting, gastro intestinal upset etc. Some persons complain of changes in head positions which bring about this vertigo. This symptom may be associated with hearing loss or tinnitus i.e a ringing sound in the ear.

Vertigo Clinics have both neurologists and ENT specialists working together to come to the accurate diagnosis and deciding on the most appropriate treatment.

The causes of vertigo may be central or peripheral. When central vertigo is suspected CT/MRI Brain studies may be needed.
