Multiple Sclerosis is chronic demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system. People with multiple sclerosis (PwMS) need long term follow up for monitoring of their symptoms as well as to look at the response of the various therapies they are taking. Hence they are best treated and followed up in a dedicated multidisciplinary clinic.

The neurologist in the clinic is an MS expert with experience in diagnosing and treating more than 300 MS patients.

Consultation in the clinic is done based on prior appointment. A detailed history shall be documented and subsequently relevant investigations shall be done to confirm the diagnosis and to initiate therapies. Patients on therapies shall be monitored for efficacy as well as to observe the side effects of the drugs and also relapses.

It’s a multidisciplinary clinic with consultations by clinical psychologist, physiotherapist, urologist and other allied departments on an individual basis.

The clinic also attends to people with other demyelinating disorders like Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM), Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders (NMOSD), Myelin Ologodendrocyte Glycoprotein Antibody Diseases (MOGAD).

Patients on various research projects shall also be followed up in the clinic. The clinic also conducts patient awareness programmes in association with Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) and its various chapters.
