Renai Medicity conducted a Mega Auto rickshaw Rally & Seminar to spread the awareness on kidney health on 12th March 2015, the world Kidney day. Dr. Krishnanunni Polakulath (Medical Director) along with Dr. Sooraj Y. S (Consultant Nephrologist, Toxicologist and Renal Transplant specialist), Mr. Saji (Sub Inspector of Police, Palarivattom) and Auto Union leaders flagged off the rally from Renai Medicity at 10.30 am.
The incidence and prevalence of kidney disease has been increasing steadily in the past few years. Unhealthy life style, adulterated food and environmental influences are the major reason for this. Diabetes, hypertension, stones, infection and drugs are the commonest causes of kidney disease. World kidney day is being celebrated on the second Thursday of March of every year to make people aware about the importance of kidney and kidney diseases. The theme of this year’s world kidney day is ‘Healthy Kidney for all’. This message underlines the need for a healthy life style, early and proper treatment of life style disease and need for increased awareness regarding kidney diseases.
