We at Renai Medicity recognise the need of the patient’s privacy along with that of carers. The hospital’s daily routines have been built with such considerations that they never infringe on the patient’s privacy. The staffs at Renai have been trained to keep high standards of privacy and dignity for patients and the carers. Respectful behaviour by the staff and maintaining integrity in their services has been emphasised as part of quality service at Renai.

All Renai Medicity physicians, staff, and volunteers are entrusted to keep your medical information confidential. We understand that you provide us with personal and private medical information about you and your health so that we may properly care for you. To that end, we are committed to protecting your information. We create a record of the care and services you receive at the hospital. We need this record to provide you with quality care and to comply with certain legal requirements.

The medical records are basically a property of the hospital but each patient has the right to access this record. This information is not divulged to a third party unless there is a written request from the patient.

We may use the information collected without your authorisation for planning your care and treatment, as a means of communication among the many health professionals who contribute to your care, as a legal document describing the care you received, means by which you or a third-party payer can verify that services billed were actually provided, as a source of data for medical research, as a source of information for public health officials charged with improving the health of the nation, as a source of data for facility planning and marketing, for quality assurance and improvement etc. We may also disclose your records to notify or assist in notifying a family member, personal relative or another person responsible for your care, about the fact that you are hospitalised and the status of your condition, to medical examiners or police that may be required with respect to law to carry out their duties, to the public health authorities any health information that may be necessary to preventing or controlling diseases, investigations, inspections, licensure and competence reviews, to law enforcement officials in their quest for identifying missing persons or locating suspects or fugitives etc.
